frequently asked

FAQ, answered plainly.

What people ask before they hold a place. If yours isn't here, write hello@ambielo.com — it comes straight to me.

The device

How does it read my breath without touching me?

It senses the small rise and fall of your chest from an arm's length away, through the blanket, with a tiny radar like the one Google's Nest Hub uses to sense sleep. Nothing on your body, nothing under the mattress, nothing to charge.

Where does it go?

On your nightstand, an arm's length from where you sleep — about 0.5 to 1.5 m — aimed at your chest. Keep it 20 cm or more from where you sleep. See where it goes →

Is there a camera or a microphone?

No. Nothing that records the room. The radar measures distance and motion, not images.

Is a radar next to my bed safe?

It's an FCC-certified radar module (FCC ID 2BOAI-YQF-6012-00), in the 60 GHz band Google's Nest Hub uses to sense sleep. It's non-ionizing. Keep it 20 cm or more from where you sleep. The finished device gets its own FCC check before it ships.

Do I have to wear anything?

No. Nothing on your wrist, nothing under the mattress. It sits on the nightstand, an arm's length from you.

What phone does it work with?

iPhone. The app runs today on TestFlight, in the first bedrooms, and it isn't in the App Store yet. Android comes later.

The night

What does it do at bedtime?

A breathing guide in the app that slows only when you follow it. Patent pending.

What do I see in the morning?

One sentence about the night. Never a score, never a grade. If you want more, the night drawn: how long, in what shape, and where you rested.

Why is there no score?

Sleep is the one thing you can't try harder at. A score turns every night into a test, and pressure is the last thing sleep needs. So ambielo never grades you. It just tells you what the night was like.

Is it a medical device?

No. It's a wellness object. It doesn't diagnose anything, and it won't tell you whether to see a doctor.

The two

What's the difference between ambielo and ambielo+?

ambielo reads the night, gives you the morning sentence, and guides your breathing at bedtime. ambielo+ adds the wake: a light that comes up before the sound, a chime from the nightstand instead of your phone, the time on its face, a touch to stop the morning, and a riser that aims it at the bed. Side by side →

How much are they?

ambielo is $249. ambielo+ is $299.

Do I have to pay a subscription?

No. The device and everything it does for your nights work without one, for as long as you own it. Pro is optional — coaching and habits in the app — and the first hundred get their first year of it included. Its price is set before the store opens.

The first hundred

What's the difference between the list and the first hundred?

The list is free: an email, and a note from me when it's ready. The first hundred are the first units built, offered in the order places were held — and a place there is $1, refundable any day.

Is the $1 a down payment?

No. It's a place in the first hundred, not the start of a charge. When yours is ready, you choose: take the dollar back, or put it toward your ambielo. Nothing is ever charged on its own.

Can I get my dollar back?

Yes, any day, for any reason. Write hello@ambielo.com with the word refund. It's returned the same week. Refunds →

When does it ship?

The store opens to everyone in January 2027. The first hundred ship in mid-2027, in two waves of fifty, each with a date — and an email if a date moves. Shipping →

Why only a hundred?

Because I build them by hand, and a hundred in two waves is what one person can do properly. It isn't a marketing number, and there's no countdown. When it's full, the page will simply say so.

What if you never ship?

You get your dollar back. That's why it's held and not spent — so that promise costs nothing to keep.

Your nights

Who sees my nights?

You do. Your nights are never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared. What it records, and where it lives →

The first hundred.

Join the list for free, or hold a place in the first hundred for $1 — refundable, and yours to put toward it when it's ready.
